Abstract Hairdressing are delighted to announce that Hani has won the prestigious Sassoon Professional Image of the Year 2015 Competition. Not only that, but we were also runners up with Ben getting through to the final six. We were the only salon to have two hairstylists in the final six nationally, a testament to the hard work, dedication and talent of the whole team.
Hani said: “I am proud and a shocked at winning, I didn’t really expect to get that far. There is a lot of talent out there, so I knew the competition would be tough.”
It was back in June that Hani Jarcheh the salon director and owner decided that both he and Ben should enter the competition, partly as a training exercise but also something the whole salon could get behind and be inspired by.
Abstract Hairdressing are a Sassoon Partner Salon which means we can offer clients the full range of superior products from the Sassoon range that would otherwise be available to non-partner salons. It also means we can continually keep up to date with the latest trends, techniques and products (not to mention the professional development and training available from the Sassoon Academy in London which is industry leading).
In this year’s competition Sassoon Professional were looking for a single image that would encapsulate creative excellence in hair; cut colour and finish. They wanted it to reflect the Sassoon philosophy of shape & balance, precision technique and suitability and, whilst it could be a commercial look, it was to be aspirational to both clients and stylists alike.
Hani describes the thought process behind his entry: “My inspiration for the entry came from the great designer “Valentino” who famously created bespoke looks for Jackie Onassis; working to a look that was ultra-feminine, simple and ready-to-wear.”
Mark Hayes, Sassoon International Creative Director and part of the judging panel agreed, commenting: “The balance between cut and colour is very harmonious and the asymmetrical sweep of hair through the front does have a certain allure. The finish was the right side of casual retaining an essential elegance.”
Mark also liked Bens entry adding: “I thought your inspiration was very interesting and conceptual… I particularly like the relaxed finish on the hair and the subtle colour that enhanced the shape.”
Ben was delighted with the result saying: “I can’t believe I got to the final six, it’s amazing to be judged by a panel of pure talent and for them to appreciate my work… It’s fantastic that Hani won, it’s given the whole team a buzz!”
As the overall winner Hani has been invited down to shadow Mark Hayes, Sassoon International Creative Director and his team on the next Sassoon Professional photo shoot, plus he gets to go behind the scenes at Sassoon International at Excel in October for the launch of the Sassoon Academy AW15 Collection.
Our success in this competition comes on the back of our recent award from Muddy Stilettos as ‘Best Hair Salon in Bucks & Oxon 2015’. We couldn’t do it without the support of our lovely clients. At Abstract Hairdressing we continually strive to offer the very best service to you.
